Erma Barbara Chevalier, age 102 of Buffalo, passed away December 8, 2016 at the Parkview Care Center in Buffalo. Erma was born February 10, 1914 in Frankfort Township rural St. Michael, Minnesota, the third youngest of 3 children born to Jacob and Mary (Frederich) Blake.

She attended St. Michael Parochial School. After her father passed away, the family moved to Buffalo, Minnesota. In 1939, she was married to Walter Chevalier and they moved to Waverly, Minnesota where they raised their one daughter, RoseMary. In 1968, they relocated to Buffalo. A few years after Walter had passed away, Erma moved into the Tower Hill Condominium in Buffalo where she spent the remaining years until her health failed and it was necessary for her to move to the Parkview Care Center in Buffalo in October 2015.

Erma enjoyed music and had mastered playing the organ and later in life the harmonica. She also enjoyed traveling, gardening, playing cards and spending time with her 5 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Erma was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Chevalier; parents, Jacob and Mary; in-laws, Charles and Emma Chevalier; sister, Minnie (Ruben) Ramthun; brother, Leander (Ellen) Blake; son-in-law, Howard Schultz; and brothers-in-law, Eugene (Irene), Raymond (Esther), Emil (Emile), Louis, Leo, Lawrence (Agnes) and Edmond (Agnes) Chevalier.

Erma is survived by her daughter, RoseMary Schultz (Henry Nieman); grandchildren, Randy (Karen) Pouliot and their children: Kris, Tiffany, Chad (Michelle), Joe (Ada), Katie (Al), Jaime and Danny (Becca); Lori (Michael) Pulvermacher and their children: Kelsy and Minde; Lyne (Tony) Daniels and their children: Courtney (Andy) and Cambria; Lana (Gary) Fabel and their children: TJ and Ethan; Lee (Nicole) Schultz and their children: Lane, Clayton, Rylie and Howard “Howie”; great-great-grandchildren, Corey, Lauren, Andrew, Whitney, Zachary, Abby, Lily, Henry, Owen, Gracie; and many other loving relatives and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial for Erma Chevalier will be held Saturday, December 17 at 11:00 AM with a visitation held one hour prior at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Buffalo. Father Nathaniel Meyers will be celebrant. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Buffalo.

Honorary casket bearer is TJ Fabel.

Casket bearers are Randy Pouliot, Lee Schultz, Mike Pulvermacher, Ethan Fabel, Tim Blake and Reinhardt Goerke.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred for St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church Preservation.

    Marge & I lost a wonderful neighbor we once shared at Tower Hill. Erma was a marvelous lady. God Bless.
