Emma Leigh Rodelius, born August 27, 1996, beloved daughter of Daniel A. and Kathleen M. (Mueller) Rodelius, and sister of Benjamin Rodelius, all of Maple Lake, went to heaven July 23, 2013. She was a remarkable young woman who lived life with exuberance and whose absence will leave a hole in the hearts of her family and friends that will not be filled this side of heaven.

At Buffalo Senior High, Emma was involved as co-editor in chief of the yearbook; she was a member of the swim team and was on the staff of the school newspaper. She was a member of Buffalo Evangelical Free church and daily lived out her faith in Christ.

Emma loved photography, often using her camera to take photos of friends and family, sporting and school events. She was independent, creative and funny. She was part of two mission trips to the Dominican Republic and was planning another next spring. While there, she fell in love with the children and people of that country.

Visitation will be held Friday 6-8 pm at Buffalo Evangelical Free Church.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday 1 pm at Buffalo Evangelical Free Church.

Memorials are preferred to ASON International (please indicate on memo line: Remembering Emma) to help complete the Dominican Republic church building project that was her passion.

Emma was preceded in death by her infant brother, Andrew Daniel and her grandfather, Vaughn Rodelius. She is survived by her parents, her brother, Ben, Paternal grandmother Doris Rodelius, Maternal grandparents Ken and Mille Mueller, Aunts, Uncles and many cousins.

Many tears are being shed at our office and in the Dominican Republic. We love Emma and grieve the fact that we will have to wait until heaven to hug her again. Hundreds of prayers are being lifted by powerful believers in the Dominican Republic in these days, especially for Dan, Kathy, Ben and all Emma’s family and friends. God bring peace to you, the kind that is so great, we cannot even understand it. With much love and prayers from all of us connected with ASON in the US and the DR.

I learned of Emma through a common connection with ASON, Int. I am so very sorry for your loss. I have experienced the pain of immediate loss of an accident with a sister & dad. It is difficult. Will be and have been praying for you as you grief the loss of a daughter & sister. Thank you for honoring her memory through memorials to ASON and her love for the Dominican. God is with you.

Tears in my eyes plus old age have made it so my post did not go through….I could not read the code. Will cc and paste below and try new code….

Dear Kathy, Dan and Ben: A special friend of mine wrote: “God has welcomed a very special angel in heaven,” in response to my sharing news story and video tribute about your precious “Emma!”

While I do believe this to be true, I know there are really no words or actions that can penetrate the pain(s) that are and will remain so heavy in your hearts and minds…..

We are praying you each will find peace each time you feel Emma’s presence and recall all of the wonderful times spent together.

We love you!!! Jo and Bud 176be
