Age 92 of Hanover and formerly Minneapolis, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2018. Born the daughter of Andrew & Hilda Hulkonen on May 9, 1926 in Brandon, MN. Elsie is survived by her daughters Cheryl (Norman) Sivula & Jackie; son Douglas; grandchildren Nick (Katie), Randy (Michele), Kari, Holly (Matt), Greg (Ashley), James (Ashley) and Brittany; great grandchildren Mazie, Emmett, Gunnar & Tegan; sister Anna Chapman; special nieces Carolyn, Betty & Joanne, many nephews & other relatives. Preceded in death by her parents; husband Chester; daughter Debra; siblings John, Lillian, Vieno, Toivo, Eva and Martha; nephew Chuck Hulkonen. Private family services October 28, 2018.

Mrs. Okerlund is a part of my youth..when we stilled called adults Mr. or Mrs. A good neighbor and friend to my parents when people would make it a point to stop by to visit and chat with their neighbors.
