Visitation Information

Elmer Bud Hagel, age 86 of Buffalo, formerly of Otsego, died Thursday, August 9, 2007 at the Buffalo Hospital.

Elmer Joseph was born on February 26, 1921 in Osseo to Thomas and Evelyn (nee Martin) Hagel. He was a Class of 1940 graduate of Elk River High School. Bud was a lifelong dairy farmer. He was a member of St. Albert Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Council #4174, for which he earned his 50 year pin.

Bud is survived by brother, Eugene Hagel, Champlin; twin sister, Elma Pouliot, Otsego; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by parents; and siblings, Orella House, Donald Hagel, Dorothy Merkel, Bernadette Vetsch, Lauretta Hallberg, and child brother, Archie Hagel.

Funeral Mass was 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 13, 2007 at St. Albert Catholic Church, Albertville. Visitation was 4-8 p.m. Monday at the Peterson Chapel St. Michael-Albertville with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation resumed at church one hour before the funeral. Burial was at St. Albert Cemetery, Albertville. Father Peter Richards was the Celebrant. Mary Lou Kolles played the organ, and Wayne Kolles and Rachel Kimmerle sang. The songs were, Only in God, Be Not Afraid, On Eagles Wings, Here I am Lord, You are Mine, In You O Lord, and How Great Thou Art.
