Elma B. Pouliot, age 90, of Otsego, MN and formerly of Crystal, MN died early Monday, February 6, 2012 at Guardian Angels Nursing Home in Elk River.

She was born on February 26, 1921 the daughter of Thomas and Evelyn (Martin) Hagel.

Elma graduated from Elk River High School in 1940. On November 5, 1942 Elma Hagel and Archie Pouliot were joined in holy marriage at the church of St. Albert in Albertville. Through the years, Elma also cared for many foster children. She was a faithful member of the Church of St. Albert. Elma enjoyed watching Lawrence Welk on Saturday evenings and followed the MN Twins.

Elma is survived by sons Randy (Karen) Pouliot of Otsego and Bill Pouliot of Duluth. Foster children Mark Grover of Chaska, MN and John Blencoe of Crystal, 12 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by husband Archie Pouliot, her parents and siblings: infant brother Archie, Orrilla House, Donald Hagel, Dorothy Merkel, Elmer Hagel, Eugene Hagel, Bernadette Vetsch, and Loretta Halberg

A Mass of Christian burial for Elma Pouliot will be held on Friday, February 10 at 10:30 A.M. at the Church of St. Albert’s in Albertville. Interment follows at Gethsemane Cemetery in Crystal.

A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, February 9 from 4-8 P.M. A prayer service will be held on Thurday evening.

Further visitation will continue at the church on Friday one hour prior to mass.

Casketbearers will be Richard House, James Vetsch, Mark Grover, Charlie Pouliot, Danny Pouliot, and Jessica Pouliot. Honorary Casketbearer will be John Blencoe.

The Peterson Chapel, St. Michael/Albertville assisted the family with arrangements.

    Dear Elma, you will be missed tremendously. I want to thank you for the memories. I will never forget your amazing home cooked meals for the Holidays. I will remember your kind heart and smile. I will cherish you always. RIP ELMA
