Visitation Information

Ella Matilda (nee Koepke) Melinsky, 85 went to be with her Lord on October 12, 2007. She resided at Lake Ridge Care Center in Buffalo.

Ella was born May 12, 1922 in Albion Township, Wright County, to Reinhold and Alvina (nee Sandman) Koepke.

She was baptized on June 11, 1922 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Middleville Township. Ella was instructed in the Lutheran Catechism and confirmed in the Christian faith on April 26, 1936 by Pastor W.D. Kanning. Her confirmation memory verse was Revelation 3:20.

On May 12, 1946 Ella and Everett Melinsky were joined in holy marriage at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Middleville Township. Pastor J. Klausmeier officiated their union. Their marriage was blessed with two children.

Ella was a lifelong member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School and served the church in many ways.

Ella was a homemaker, who also worked side by side with husband Everett on the family farm. She dearly loved her family, and enjoyed gardening and her beautiful flowers.

She will be greatly missed by her children: daughter, Audrey (Dennis) Bowles of Duluth, and son, Rod (LoAnn) Melinsky of Aberdeen, SD; grandchildren: Greg (Carey) Bowles of Becker, Jennifer (Mike) McPherson of Duluth, Denise (Paul) Eisenmenger and Nick Melinsky all of Winnebago, Heather (Ben) Madsen of Fairmont, Lindsey (Tyson) DeHoet of Aberdeen, SD, Whitney Rea of Berkeley, CA; great-grandchildren: Frances Anne Bowles, Scott Everett Bowles, Noah William McPherson, Jacob Daniel McPherson, Alandra Lea Eisenmenger, Addisen Mae Eisenmenger, Ethan Benjamin Madsen, Dacotah Marie DeHoet and Brodyn Ty DeHoet; sister, Erna Steenerson of Buffalo; sister-in-law, Frances Rowe of Grand Rapids; brother-in-law, Lester Uecker of Maple Lake; nieces; nephews, relatives; and special friends.

Ella will be joined in Heaven by her husband; parents; sister, Leona; and brother, Arnold.

Please help us honor a life well lived. The visitation is Tuesday 5-8 P.M. at the Peterson Chapel-Buffalo with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. Visitation resumes at church, one hour before the funeral. Funeral services are 1:30 P.M. Wednesday, October 17, 2007 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Middleville Township with Pastor Lynn Machula officiating. The organist will be Ruth Goerke and Alex Smoot will sing the solo, Nearer My God To Thee. The congregation will sing The Old Rugged Cross and What A Friend We Have In Jesus. The casket bearers are: grandsons: Greg Bowles, Nick Melinsky, Paul Eisenmenger, and Ben Madsen; nephews: Al Woyke and Darrell Uecker. Interment will follow at Howard Lake Cemetery.

We pray God™s blessings on those who have shared in Ella™s life. We are grateful for our memories.
