Elizabeth “Betty” Marie Justen, age 91, formerly of Fletcher passed away on Friday, February 18, 2011 at Hillcrest of Wayzata.
She was born on July 19, 1919 in Bloomington the daughter of Richard & Rose Muglich Ancel.
On October 27, 1937, Elizabeth “Betty” Ancel and Francis E. “Frank” Justen were joined in holy marriage at The Assumption Catholic Church in Richfield.
Mr. & Mrs. Justen came to Hassan Township in 1947 from Bloomington. They engaged in dairy & chicken farming near Fletcher for many years. Frank Justen preceded his wife in death on April 29, 2001.
She was a faithful member of Mary Queen of Peace St. Walburga Campus in Fletcher.
Survived by sons: Gerald “Jerry” Justen, Donald (Paula) Justen, Kenneth (Margaret) Justen, Steven (Connie) Justen, Thomas (Beverly) Justen & Timothy (Vicki) Justen; daughters: Marlene Dittell, Carol (Bob) Wyatt, Debra (Allen) Wokson & Mary Jane (Michael) Milless; fifty six grandchildren, many great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law; other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, a daughter: LaVonne Justen and by two granddaughters: Nicole Justen and Louann Bennis.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Elizabeth “Betty” Justen was held on Wednesday, February 23rd at 11:00 A.M. at Mary Queen of Peace St. Walburga Campus in Fletcher. Father Mark D. Moriarty was the Celebrant. Interment followed at St. Walburga Cemetery.
