Eleanore Mary Marquette, age 90, of Elk River and formerly of Buffalo passed away on Monday, March 25, 2013 at Guardian Angels Nursing Home in Elk River.

She was born on September 7, 1922 in St. Michael the daughter of Wendolyn & Cecila Kasper Goeb.

On May 4, 1943, Eleanore Goeb and Norman Marquette were joined in holy marriage. God blessed their marriage with seven children.

Eleanore formerly worked at The Corner Bar in St. Michael for Irene and Wally Eull. In the 1960’s, Eleanore also worked seven and a half years at Honeywell.

Eleanore and Norman were former proprietors of Norm & El’s Bar in Downtown Buffalo from 1974 until 1987.

She also was a school cook for many years at St. Francis Catholic School.

Eleanore was a member of The Church of St. Francis in Buffalo.

Survived by children: Robert (Joanne) Marquette, Ronald (Connie) Marquette all of Monticello, James (Mary) Marquette of St. Michael, Kate (Dick) Bistodeau of Monticello, Wayne “Butch” (Kathy) Marquette of St. Michael, Mary (Kevin) Weinand of Rogers and Tom (Deb) Marquette of Wadena; eighteen grandchildren: Rick, Jason, Myles and Grant Marquette; Kelly & Ron Weinand; Gigette Lynch, Amy Jo Mattson, Desiree Sullivan, Mellissa Evans, Brooke Marquette, Chad Marquette, Angie Voll, Kim Nermyr, Kristy Johnson, Linda, Gary and Greg Kjellberg; thirty two great grandchildren: Ryan, April, Aaron, Courtney, Rilee, Zachary, Michael, Macy, Malachi, Jordan, Taylor, MacKenzie, Abbie Jo, Olivia, Mitchell, Ella, Coltan, Kendall, Nick, Max, Charlie, Jack, Samantha, Gibson, Zachary, Aspen, Griffin, Peyton, Kelsea, Ashlea, Charles and Maxwell; two sisters: Rita Bistodeau and Deloria Lynch-Moran; many other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by her husband Norman in 1997, a grandson: Troy Marquette, her parents and by a sister Regina Goeb.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Eleanore Marquette will be held on Tuesday, April 2nd at 11:00 A.M. at The Church of St. Francis in Buffalo. Father David Hennen will be the Celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Francis Cemetery.

A visitation will be held at The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo on Monday, April 1st from 4-8 P.M.

Further visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday morning, April 2nd one hour prior to Mass.

Casket Bearers will be Rick Marquette, Jason Marquette, Myles Marquette, Grant Marquette, Kelly Weinand and Zach Weinand.
