Elaine Jean Kimmer, age 76 of Buffalo passed away at her home on April 12, 2016. Funeral service on Monday, April 18, 2016, at 11 AM at First Presbyterian Church, Howard Lake, MN. Visitation on Sunday, April 17, from 2 – 5 PM at The Peterson Chapel, Buffalo, with further visitation one hour prior to service at the church on Monday. Internment at Faith Presbyterian Cemetery, Hopkins, MN.
Elaine was born on September 30, 1939, in Hopkins, MN, to John and Loretta (Bren) Pavelka. She attended Hopkins High School in Hopkins, MN. She married Milton Kimmer on May 2, 1959 in Hopkins. They owned and operated cafes in the Hopkins area before moving to Cokato in 1967. Upon her husband’s death in 1988, Elaine moved to Montrose, where she resided until 2014, when she moved to Buffalo. She worked at the Wright County Courthouse for over 20 years. She truly enjoyed singing and music. She was a member of the Wright County Chamber Chorus in Buffalo.
Preceeded in death by her parents, John and Loretta; husband, Milton; and brother, Harold.
Survived by her children, Ricky (Nancy) Kimmer of Monticello, Sherry (Angie) Kimmer of Rogers; grandchildren, Erik Barthel, Michael Barthel, David Kimmer, Daniel Kimmer, Christina Kimmer; brother, Robert (Joanne) Pavelka of Hopkins; sister-in-law, Dorothy Pavelka of Hopkins; and her beloved cat, Pixie.
Elaine was a wonderful woman. I really enjoyed working with her and she will be missed. Sympathies to the family.

Elaine was one of the most long-standing and steadfast members of our Wright County Chamber Chorus. She loved singing and was a thoroughly dedicated member of the choir, rarely missing a rehearsal. I know she was looking forward to this Sunday’s concert. She will be dearly missed. The WCCC will be dedicating their performance on Sunday to the memory of Elaine’s love of singing.
We are so sorry to hear about the loss of sweet Elaine. We enjoyed singing with her in Wright County Chamber Singers over the years and will miss her gentle nature and lovely voice.
