Elaine R. Engstrom, age 83, of St. Michael, MN passed away at Monticello Hospital, Monticello, MN on August 14, 2013.

Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, August 19, 2013 at 11 AM at Church of St. Albert, Albertville, MN.

Visitation on Sunday, from 4-8 PM with a rosary at 7 PM & one hour prior to Mass on Monday ALL AT THE CHURCH.

Interment St. Albert’s Cemetery, Albertville, MN.

Elaine was born on July 1, 1930 to Anton & Alice (Quinn) Zimmel in Osakis, MN. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in education. Elaine was married to Robert E. Engstrom from January 11, 1953 to September of 1993. She taught for 35 years in Nelson, MN, Henning, Mn, St. Michael & Albertville, MN. She was active in many community organizations including the Legion Auxiliary, Lioness, Red Hats, Crow River Senior Citizen Center, Monticello Hospital Auxiliary & Christian Women’s in Albertville. Elaine was named Citizen of the Year during the Albertville Friendly City Days. She was a member of the Women’s Bowling League at Crow River Lanes.
Preceded in death by her parents, husband, Robert, son, Roy, brother, Lyle Zimmel & brother-in-law, John Gallo.

Survived by her children, Jeaneen (Bruce) Berning, Ron (Jenny) Engstrom, Lowell (Alice) Engstrom & Lynell (David) Becker; 13 grandchildren; 8 ½ great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, JoAnn Mattern; brother, Robert (Eleanor) Zimmel & sister, Carol (Gene) Dell.
