Edward “Eddie” Dorma, age 97, MN passed away on July 5, 2016 at Guardian Angels Care Center, Elk River, MN. Funeral service on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at 11 AM at the Peterson Chapel, Buffalo, MN. Visitation one hour prior to service, at the chapel. Interment Riverside Cemetery, Annandale, MN. Preceded in death by his loving wife Mayme, brothers and sisters, Hilda Dorma, John Emil (Josephine) Dorma, Hjalmer Dorma, Mayta (Marvin) Gerard, Hubert (Anna Maldena “Dena”) Dorma, Mary Elma (Hubert) Robinson, Arthur (Amelia “Millie”) Dorma, Semert (Martha) Dorma, Ellen Lorraine North and an unnamed baby boy.
Survived by loving daughters, Nancy (Arnold) Hendrickson, Mary (Richard) Anderson, Alice (Marvin) Thibodeau; grandchildren Jerri Ann (Joe) Bertie, Jodi (Jeff) Boldenow, Jeremy (Angela) Sizer, Christopher (Christina) Hendrickson, Kelly (Jason) Lowe, Kate (Ben) Robinson, Kinsey (Suzanne) Anderson and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Edward was a musician, designer and inventor. As a farmer he designed and built his own power mower, power corn picker, power loading equipment and a crop windrow machine. He worked as a electric arc welder, machinist, Engineering Clerk and Design Engineer. One of his designs, a part in the Apollo Lunar Roving Vehicle, is on the moon. He founded Custom Enterprises where he designed, built and sold a full line of electric and wood burning sauna heaters. In retirement Edward continued to invent including a variable speed transmission, PowerWrench, Spring King, spider winch, lopper, rock and roll bike, and a long handled fruit picker.
