Edna Mabel Vieau, age 91, of rural Howard Lake passed away on Sunday, August 4th, 2013 at Park View Care Center.
She was born on February 13, 1922 in Albion Township, Wright County the daughter of August & Esther Bonnick Uecker.
Edna was baptized on March 12, 1922 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Middleville Township. She was also instructed in The Lutheran Catechism and confirmed in the Christian faith on April 14, 1935 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Her Confirmation memory verse was 1st Timothy 6: 12-14
On November 25, 1941, Edna M. Uecker and Leo J. Vieau were joined in holy marriage at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Waverly. God blessed their marriage with three children.
Edna & Leo purchased a farm in Middleville Township, Wright County in the early fifties. They engaged in dairy farming there for many years. Edna & Leo built and moved into a new home on their farm in 1977.
She enjoyed reading, gardening, canning, caring for Leo and their cats.
Edna was a life, long member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Middleville Township and belonged to its Ladies Aid.
Survived by children: Dennis (Barbara) Vieau and Debbie (Dean) Brand all of Howard Lake; four grandchildren: John Robinson, Heather Robinson., Philip Vieau and Jeff Brand; two great grandchild: Adrian Robinson and Isabelle Brand; other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by her husband: Leo J. Vieau on January 10, 2011, a daughter: Darlene Robinson on September 22, 2010, her parents and by a brother Willard Uecker.
Funeral services for Edna Vieau will be held on Wednesday, August 7th at 11:00 A.M. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Middleville Township.
Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Waverly.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 7th from 10:00 A.M. till time of service at the church.
Casket Bearers will be Dennis Vieau, Debbie Brand, Jeff Brand, Philip Vieau, James Allbee and John Robinson.
