Edith B. (Kempenich) Kelly, age 93, of St. Michael, passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at the Golden Living Center in Delano.
She was born in Randall, Minnesota on August 18, 1918 the daughter of Peter and Levina (Pechan) Kempenich.
Edith was a dedicated employee at Northridge Care Center for 35 years. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church and was a former member of St. Thomas Catholic Church in Corcoran.
She is survived by her children: Edwin (Bonita) Kelly, Dennis (Carol) Kelly, David Kelly (Pamela DeJong), Mary Anderson, and (Chris) Barbara Adams; 23 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; sister, Eleanor Thompson; daughter-in-law, Alice Kelly. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Edith was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bernard Kelly in 1970; children: Leo Kelly in 1999, Lois Lagerquist in 1997, and James Kelly in 1965; brothers: Nick, Pete, Lawrence and Clarence; sister, Jean.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00am Monday, November 28, 2011 at St. Michael Catholic Church. Visitation will be held at the Peterson Chapel of St. Michael-Albertville on Sunday afternoon from 4-8:00pm and again 1 hour prior to Mass at the church Monday morning.
Interment will be at St. Thomas Cemetery in Corcoran on Wednesday, November 30th at 2:00pm
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to either St. Michael Catholic Church, 11300 Frankfort Pkwy NE, St. Michael, MN 55376 or to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Minnesota Chapter, 200 12th Ave. South, Minneapolis, MN 55415.
I will always remember Auntie Edith as one of the most loving, caring and sweetest people I’ve had the pleasure to know, much less have the honor of being related to. We will miss her greatly. Bless you all.
