Visitation Information

Dwane J. Walz, age 60 of Albertville died Saturday, December 13, 2008 at Lake Ridge Care Center.

Dwane Joseph was born on November 9, 1948 in St Cloud to Robert and Lorraine (nee Mehrwerth) Walz. He was a longtime trucker.

Dwane is survived by his wife, Ann; children: Craig, Buffalo, and Missy and Kevin, both of Wisconsin; son-in-law, Paul Jensen, WI; mother-in-law, Adeline (nee Lichy) Barthel, St Michael; grandchildren: Ava, Savannah, Olivia, Bailee, Eli, Aaron, Andrew, and Ashley; brothers: Robert, Gary, and Ron; sisters: Michelle Messerschmidt, Deb Miller, and Kim Olson; sisters-in-law: Lou Witzel, Lorriane (Lawrence) Keller, Carolyn (Larry) Backus, Diana (Ron) Olson, Louise (Mike) Kemmetmueller, Linda (Mike) Johnson, Patty (Gregg) Otten, and Cecilia (Rueben) Aponte; brothers-in-law: Chuck (Joan) Barthel, John (Barb) Barthel, and Ed (Lori) Barthel; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Darren; daughter, Monica Jensen; parents; and father-in-law, Carl L. Barthel.

The Funeral Mass was 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 17, 2008 at St Albert Catholic Church in Albertville, Father Peter Richards acting as Celebrant. Casket Bearers were: Steve Olson, Brandon Barthel, Brian Messerschmidt, Christopher Messerschmidt, Brett Fredrickson, and Ed Barthel. Kari Roth was the vocalist and Julie Loch was the organist. The visitation took place at church, two hours before the funeral. The burial was at St Albert Cemetery in Albertville.
