Dr. Daniel Paul Marty, age 65, went home to be with his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ suddenly on October 13, 2014 due to complications following colon cancer surgery.

Dan married his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Mary, on June 28, 1969 and they, along with their children Michelle, Jason and Stacy, moved to Buffalo in 1976 after joining his great friend, Fred Cox, in chiropractic partnership (initially Cox Chiropractic and later and currently Marty Chiropractic.)

Dan lived his life full of faith in Jesus Christ, living a life dedicated to glorifying Him and leaving an incredible legacy for all those that knew him to follow; a legacy of faithfulness and commitment, unselfishness, integrity, generosity, hard work, patience and love. His passing has left a massive hole in the lives of his family and friends but their assurance that God can and will and IS filling that hole is providing them with great peace and hope and they rejoice in the fact that, through their faith in Jesus Christ, they will see him again in heaven – to God be the glory!

Dan was preceded in death by his father and mother, Mark P. and Millie C. Marty and mother-in-law and father-in-law Rev. F.E. and Judaea Geske.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Mary Marty; daughter Dr. Michelle (Brad) Crawford, son Dr. D. Jason (Lisa) Marty and daughter Stacy (Nicolas) Uecker; grandchildren Elias, Olivia and Caden Uecker, Marley and Mia Marty; Caleb and Josiah Crawford; and siblings Drena Christianson, Carol (Dick) Gauck, Dr. David Marty, Jim (Debbie) Marty and Paula (Jeff) Marty; many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Dr. Daniel P. Marty will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at Buffalo Covenant Church at 11:00 AM with memorials going to Children’s Hope Chest and Compassion International.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 17th from 4-7 at the church. Further visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.

Lovingly serving the family, The Peterson Chapel, Buffalo.

Both Darlene and I offer our sincere condolences. Mary, you probably remember that Dan and I were great friends at NWCC and nearly went into practice together. Unfortunately, I hadn’t seen Dan for probably 20 years. He was indeed a compassionate person and a credit to his community and profession. I am saddened by his passing.

Dear Mary and family: Though we didn’t maintain any contact for so many years, I have so many memories and still feel a connection from all the time Dan and I spent together in high school and in early college days. I know he was as wonderful a husband and parent as he was a friend to so many of us back in the old days, so sorry to hear of his passing. Sorry for your loss.

I first met Dr. Dan in the early 80’s. I started going to see him because of back problems. What a kind, soft spoken man. He was very good to me. Of course through the years Mom and Dad knew him and Mary well. They would always stop and greet dad as they came into church. For those who don’t know, we always had the back row because of dad’s health. I always thought it was so nice of Dan and Mary to stop to say hi or just touch his shoulder on the way by. Very loving man, he’ll be missed. Be assured he is at peace in heaven. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Dale and Lisa Bjorklund.

    Mary and family–
Harvey and I were so in shock as we read about Dan’s passing. There are no words to write that will make you feel any differently right now. Know that so many are praying for you and your extended family as you walk through the days and weeks ahead. May you find comfort in the memories you share in your hearts.
