Visitation Information

Dorothy Leona ( nee Bistodeau) age 88 of Monticello passed away on Saturday, March 27, 2010 at New River Medical Center.

She was born in Monticello on May 19, 1921 the daughter of Alex & Elizabeth Roden Bistodeau. Dorothy was raised on the family farm. She was also baptized and confirmed at The Church of St. Albert in Albertville.

On October 15, 1941, Dorothy Bistodeau & Adelor Roden were joined in holy marriage at The Church of St. Albert in Albertville. God blessed their marriage with ten children.

She was a faithful, lifelong member of The Church of St. Albert. Dorothy also belonged to The Albertville Senior Citizens, The Card Club and to The Quilters Club. She enjoyed crafting!

Survived by nine children: Floyd (Beverly) Roden of Otsego, Betty Vetsch of Albertville, Eileen Richardson of Anoka, Marilyn (Sheldon) Barthel of St. Michael, Diane (Greg) Boardman of Chandler, Arizona, Linda (Richard) Raymond and Susan (Steve) Louricas all of Otsego, Janet (Martin) Anderson of Big Lake and Kenneth (Pam) Roden of Emily; a daughter-in-law: Beatrice Roden of Alberville; thirty six grandchildren, sixty five great grandchildren and twenty six great, great grandchildren; a sister: Sarah Kasper of Albertville; sisters-in-law: Bernice Weidenbach of Minneapolis, Virginia Bistodeau of Maple Lake, Virginia Wendel of Ogilvie, Rita Bidstodeau of Albertville, Pat Bistodeau of Chester, Virginia and Beatrice May of Elk River; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by husband: Adelor B. Roden, a son: Jerome, son-in-laws: Melvin Barthel, Dale Vetsch and Donald Richardson, her parents: Alex & Elizabeth Bistodeau, a sister: Viola Bell and brothers: Roy, Ed, Lloyd, Robert, Marvin, Bernard, Cyril and Kenneth Bistodeau and a step grandson: Rob Richardson.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Dorothy Roden was held at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, March 31st at The Church of St. Albert in Albertville. Interment followed at St. Albert Cemetery.

A visitation was held at the Church on Tuesday, March 30th from 4-8 P.M.

Casket Bearers were Tony Barthel, Kurt Roden, Ronald Richardson, Bob Vogt, Jarrod Vogt, Mikan Raymond, Wayne Roden and Andrew Anderson.

The Peterson Chapel St. Michael-Albertville Funeral Home served the family.
