Dorothy Minnie Harff, age 91, of Buffalo, formerly of Rockford, passed away Monday, December 20, 2010 at Parkview Care Center in Buffalo, Minnesota.
Dorothy Minnie Harff was born July 20, 1919 in Norwood, Minnesota to Otto and Hattie (Henzel) Zellman. The family lived in several places while she grew up. She attended school in Lindale, Mayer, Mound and St. Bonifacius. As a young adult she worked at the Mound Hotel where she helped serve food. Dorothy was united in marriage to Clarence Harff on August 11, 1945. Six children were born to this union. The family lived in the Loretto-Greenfield area where they farmed their entire life. Since 2004 she has been a resident at Parkview Care Center in Buffalo, Minnesota. Dorothy enjoyed fishing, cooking, gardening, sewing, and knitting. She especially enjoyed doing crafts.
Dorothy is survived by her children;Earl (Eileen) Harff of Glencoe, Ron Harff of Rockford, Don (Shirley) Harff of Kimball, and Carol (David) Strombeck of Plymouth, daughter –in-law Pat Harff of Lino Lakes and sister Bernice Ward of Rockford. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Hattie Zellman, son Leonard, daughter Cheryl and husband Clarence .
Funeral Services will be Thursday, December 23, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Greenfield, MN with the Rev. Dennis Strong officant. Visitation will be Thursday from 1 PM until time of service at the church. Burial will be in Salem Ev. Lutheran Cemetery.
Casket bearers are Paul Harff, Peter Harff, Nathan Harff, Derrick Harff, Darren Harff, and Brett Harff.
The Peterson Chapel of Buffalo, Minnesota assisted the family with arrangements.
Great Grandma Dorothy,
You will be dearly missed. I am so glad you got to meet your great-great-granddaughter, Aubri. May you rest in peace!
