Dorene aka Dee Dee was such a great lady. I will always remember our tour of the wine country in Murietta, California. We tasted so many samples we had to delay our drive back to San Diego so we could sober up! We laughed the whole day long. Dorene will be missed. Our deepest sympathies to Bryan and Dorenes family. We won’t see the likes of her again. Rest In Peace Dorene and save a place for us.
I will miss her deeply. We were so close. My deepest sympathy Bryan to you and the rest of the family. God bless.
Our hearts, prayers and thoughts are with you Bryan, as well as Dorene’s family. I know how much she loved you, and I know just from our conversations how much she cared for her family and friends. She loved working at the courthouse, and I know it was tough for her to retire, but she had spunk, and was a fighter always doing the best she could with life’s challenges.
She had a caring, warm heart and a great sense of humor! I’ll miss her laugh and our visits together. We had been friends for over 50 years, meeting at Crawford Lake Country School, and going to Crawford Lake Church together, and being confirmed there. She loved country school and Mrs. Lillian Cummings, (Dorene would chuckle just saying her name) We had a lot of fond memories about going to school there, with our fellow classmates. There were 5 of us in our grade: Jackie Knudsvig, Todd Vail and Nancy Gustafson. It’s odd to think we were some of the last to have such a great experience there. Dorene used to comment how amazed she was that Mrs. Cummings could teach and handle 6 grades in that one room school, and still manage to pull off the Christmas pageant every year, plus art projects. We both hated transferring to grade school in Buffalo, but Dorene made some terrific friends there as well as new memories, keeping her friends close through the years.
We will truly miss Dorene’s genuine friendship, her optimism, her warm smile and her wonderfully candid, honest viewpoints. She was a great friend, and we were truly blessed to have her in our lives.
Bryan, may you find peace in knowing she is restored and renewed with our Lord and Savior, sharing in the pure joy and happiness which can only be found in Heaven with all believers. Our love, prayers and thoughts are with you!
May God be with you and comfort you, and bring you His peace always.
Bryan, I’m thinking of you a lot these days. So glad we can talk on phone. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you in this sad time.
Love Janet & Mike
