Doreen “Deannie” Kay (Ruter) Sproul, age 69, of Buffalo, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2024. She was born on March 29, 1955, in Wilmar, Minnesota, to the late Lucas Ruter and Dorothy (LeCocq) Ruter.

Deannie will be remembered as a vibrant free spirit. She had a natural knack for making jokes and spreading laughter wherever she went.

One of Deannie’s greatest joys in life was being surrounded by nature, particularly spending time on the lake and being out on the water. She found peace being outdoors.

Her love for animals was evident to all who knew her, but it was her special bond with dogs that truly captured her heart. She showered her furry friends with endless affection and care, and they were a source of immense joy and companionship throughout her life.

Deannie will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Though she may no longer be with us in person, her spirit will live on in the fond memories and cherished moments shared with her.

Deannie is survived by her sons, Jonathan Garbrich and Jason (fiancé, Alisa Annis) Klinghagen; grandchildren, Zya Mae Bartlett, Ethan Lee Nissan, Chayse Jamie Cummings, Cody Lane Capehart, Emmett Larry Klinghagen; step-grandchildren, Emma Marie Holmes, George Martin Holmes; siblings, Douglas (Jenny) Ruter, Shela (Tom) Sesnac, Barbara (Tom) Johnson, Lisa Gaudreau,  Reneta (Bud) Peterson, and Julie Doom.

Deannie is preceded in death by her parents, Lucas and Dorothy Ruter, and her brother, Michael Ruter.

Private family services will be held.
