Donna Rae (Buschel) Swanson, age 69 of Mesa, AZ .(formerly of Buffalo/Big Lake MN area), beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away Friday, May 16th, 2014 at her AZ residence.

She was born on August 5th 1944 to Herman and Margaret Buschel in Isle, MN and graduated in 1962 from Buffalo High School. She worked as a secretary and administrative assistant for many years. Donna was a vibrant woman whose great sense of humor made you laugh. She was very personable and enjoyed visiting with others. She was very creative, loved to crochet doilies, Afghans, Christmas ornaments and made many other craft items. She loved watching western movies with family and friends.

Family meant everything to Donna, she went out of her way to help others anyway she could. A caring person whose faith and beliefs in living a good life were shared with others, as she took in and raised many foster children as her own, over the years.

She married her sweetheart, Willie, on July 29th, 1967 and their marriage was blessed with one son, Keith. Her great sense of humor, laughter, big blue eyes and her lovely smile will be missed by all.

Survived by her husband of 47 years: Willard A. Swanson, Children: Keith (Laurie) Swanson, grandchild: Sophie Amelia Swanson (who she adored) of AZ, brothers: Bob (Joan) Buschel of N.C., Bill (Linda) Buschel of Texas, Jim (Noreen) Buschel of Georgia, sister-in-law Mary Buschel of MN and many nieces and nephews, and by many other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by her parents: Herman and Margaret (Serie) Buschel, brothers: Richard Buschel and Steven (Joe) Buschel, sister-in-laws: Corrine Buschel and Kay Buschel, and her father and mother-in-law: Freeman and Evelyn Swanson.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Buffalo, MN on Saturday, June 7th, 2014 at 11:00 A.M.with visitation one hour prior to service.

A private burial service will be held at the Greenwood Cemetery in Big Lake, MN.
