Donna Mae Louise Oswald, age 83, of St. Michael and formerly of Corcoran passed away on Thursday, May 2nd, 2013 at her residence.
She was born on October 10, 1929 in Corcoran the daughter of William & Mabel (Daluge) Tiemann.
She was baptized at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Corcoran. Donna was also instructed in The Lutheran Catechism and confirmed in the Christian faith at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Corcoran. Her confirmation memory verse was Matthew 6:33
On November 14, 1953, Donna Mae Tiemann and Clarence T. Oswald were joined in holy marriage at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Corcoran. God blessed their marriage with two daughters.
Donna and Clarence engaged in dairy farming for many years on his family’s homestead in Corcoran. They moved from the farm in 2000 and purchased a home in rural St. Michael.
She enjoyed playing cards and belonged to a number of card clubs. Donna also enjoyed farming and bird watching.
Donna was a faithful, life long, member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Maple Grove.
Preceded in death by her husband: Clarence on August 28th, 2012; parents: William & Mabel Tiemann, a sister: Delrose Keppel, father-in-law & mother-in-law: William & Emma Oswald, brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law: Arthur Klemp, Joe Williams, Bob Zumwalt, Bob Keppel, Bernice Williams, Mildred Zumwalt, Dorothy Jones, June Tessman and Newel Jones.
Survived by two daughters: Renae Oswald-Anderson (Fred) and Joyce Oswald Meuleners (Mike); four grandchildren: Leigha & Karah and Dustin & Kelly; brother and sister-in-law: Ronald (Katie) Tiemann; a sister and brother-in-law: JoAnne (Elwyn) Manthei; a sister-in-law: Myrtle Klemp; a brother-in-law & sister-in-law: Eldon & Addie Tessman; other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services for Donna Oswald will be held on Monday, May 6, 2013 at 11:30 A.M. at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 9141 County Road #101, in Maple Grove. Reverend Matthew Johnson will officiate.
Interment will follow at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, May 5th at the church from 4-7 P.M. A Prayer service will be held at 6:30 P.M. Further visitation will be held at the church on Monday morning, May 6th one hour prior to services.
Casket Bearers will be Joel Klemp, Dale Keppel, Jim Keppel, Randy Manthei, Doug Manthei, Harold Schmidt, Dick Johnson and Hillard Kalk.
