Donna Mae (Carver) Johnson went home to be with our Lord on April 30, 2022. Donna was born September 13, 1939, on a farm in St. Paul Minnesota; the daughter of Lee and Edna (Schmit) Carver.

Donna was born and raised on a farm. Grew up active in 4-H Club work. Enjoyed family ball games and fishing outings. She played accordion and sang with her brother’s band –The Eddie Carver’s Westerners. They entertained at many functions. Donna also sang with her sister Carol as the Carver Sisters.

She graduated from Rockford High School in 1957, where she was a member of the school choir. Donna worked for Sears Roebuck in Minneapolis for 27 ½ years; she was a supervisor and trainer for Sears stores in teletype communications.

After leaving Sears, she worked for Prudential Life Insurance in Plymouth, Minnesota as an accountant for 8 years. While living in Minneapolis for 10 years, she made her confirmation in the Lutheran Church.

She married Roger Johnson, a farmer from Montrose, Minnesota, in 1984. They became members of the Montrose Methodist Church again where she enjoyed singing gospel songs at many Sunday church services.

Donna and Roger lived in Buffalo, Minnesota for over 23 years and Sun City West, Arizona, for many years, and now back in Buffalo. They loved to travel and went on 3 cruises.

Donna owned a hobby farm for 32 years in Delano, Minnesota with her mother. She loved horses, showing, riding both English and Western, and jumping classes. Other hobbies were downhill skiing, where she was so proud for taking first place in a downhill skiing competition. She loved figure skating at Golden Valley Skate Club and water skiing.

Donna volunteered for 4 years at Parkview Care Center, where her mother Edna was a resident. Doing karaoke Friday nights for the residents to sing their favorite songs, calling Bingo, and playing 500 with residents was another favorite pastime of hers.

Donna loved to sing with her family from her early years, but was very happy when she got to perform her favorite country artists such as Kitty Wells, Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn, and Wanda Jackson in four variety shows. She also liked giving karaoke parties, playing hand and foot, and 500 with family and friends.
