Donna Mae Agatha Muntifering, 86, of Buffalo, MN died peacefully on Monday, November 20, 2017 at the Lake Ridge Nursing Home in Buffalo, MN. She was called by the Lord for a joyous reunion with her husband, family and friends.
Donna was born on December 24, 1930 to Agnes (Lichy) and Henry Cremers in Arban, MN and was the second of four children. She attended Kimball High School where she was homecoming queen and graduated in 1948. On June 7, 1950 she married Frederick (Fritz) Muntifering, who preceded her in death in 1985. In 1957 they moved to Buffalo where they owned and operated Fritz’s Bake Shop for many years. Together they raised ten children, remained active in their church and community, and enjoyed gardening and hobby farming.
Donna spent her leisure time traveling, socializing with friends, and rooting for her beloved Minnesota Twins. But most important to her were family get-togethers with her children, grandchildren and siblings. Her infectious smile and warm personality welcomed everyone she met.
She is survived by her children Marc Muntifering (Jim Hagen) of Seattle, WA; Cheryl (John) Gransee of Hurley, WI; Patrice (Jon) Bogart of Monticello, MN; Craig Muntifering of St. Paul, MN; Ronald (Colleen) Muntifering of Buffalo, MN; Susan (Tom) Evans of Buffalo, MN; Ann (Bruce) Hanson of Buffalo, MN; Chris (Marsha) Muntifering of Atlanta, GA; Mary (Matt) Kunde of Buffalo, MN; and Jean (Jim) Elsenpeter of Buffalo, MN. She leaves behind 19 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Further survived by brothers Orville (Lou) Cremers of St. Nicholas, MN and Thomas (Patti) Cremers of Paynesville, MN.
Donna was preceded in death by husband Fritz, her parents Agnes and Henry, sister Cordella Meier, and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Visitation will be Friday, November 24, 2017 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at St. Francis Xaiver Catholic Church in Buffalo, MN. A mass of Christian burial will be held at the church on Saturday, November 25 at 11:00 AM with visitation one hour prior; mass will be officiated by Father Nathaniel Meyers. Serving the family is Peterson Chapel of Buffalo, MN.

My heart is full of love for the Muntifering family at this time. Donna is part of my earliest memories and I loved her like family. Her persona to me is a smiling, laughing, soft, warm, hug. I will miss her and will enjoy continued use of the Muntifering recipes she gave me for my wedding–one of my most cherished gifts of all!
