Donald William Borscheid, age 92, of rural Buffalo passed away on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at his residence.

He was born on October 14, 1918 in Rockford Township, Wright County the son of William & Emma Schmedeke Borscheid.

Donald was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church-Pelican Lake.

On June 29, 1946, Donald W. Borscheid & Ruth S. were joined in holy marriage at Carlslund Lutheran Church south of Buffalo. God blessed their marriage with four children.

Donald engaged in dairy farming for many years. He was born and passed away in the same house.

He played the guitar and the mouth organ as a young man. Donald and Ruth enjoyed traveling to California, Oregon, Florida and to Branson, Missouri.

Donald was a faithful, longtime member of Zion Lutheran Church in Buffalo.

Survived by wife: Ruth S. Borscheid; four children: David Borscheid (special friend Jeanne) of Buffalo, Carol Gilles (special friend Tim) of Rogers, Paul (Judy) Borscheid of Hutchinson and John Borscheid of Buffalo; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; a brother: Marlin Borscheid of Forest Lake; a sister: Audrey (Allen) Carlson of Monticello; other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents, a sister: Doris Gutknecht and by a brother-in-law: Arthur Gutknecht.

Funeral services for Donald Borscheid will be held on Sunday, January 16th at 2:00 P.M. at Zion Lutheran Church in Buffalo. Interment Zion Lutheran Cemetery.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 16th one hour prior to services at the church.

Casket Bearers will be Gary Gutknecht, Allen Gutknecht, Larry Davis, Lonnie Davis , Evan Borscheid and Bill Borscheid.
