June 3, 1942 – December 13, 2022

Donald S. Weidenbach, age 80, of rural Monticello passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at Engel Haus in Albertville.

He was born on June 3, 1942 in Buffalo the son of Raymond & Adeline (Kasper) Weidenbach.

On October 5, 1963, Donald S. Weidenbach and Carol Ann Barthel were joined in holy marriage at The St. Micahel Catholic Church in St. Michael.   God blessed their marriage with six children.

Donald & Carol Ann engaged in dairy farming north of Albertville for many years.

He was a faithful member of St. Albert’s Catholic Church in Albertville and belonged to The Albertville Lions Club.

Survived by his special friend: Donna Duscha; children: Betty (Jeff) Schoen, Kathy (Dan) Barthel, Tom Weidenbach (Deb Secora), Paul (Rochelle) Weidenbach and Diane (Donnie) Soderlund; grandchildren: Ashley, Courtney (Tyler), Danielle, Miranda, Samantha, Savannah, CaraAnn, Tyler,

Donnie IV, Brittney, Drake and Dane; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Jan (Ralph) Kasper, Barb (Jim) Ebby, Dennis (Jan) Barthel and Gary (Mary) Barthel; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by his wife Carol Ann on July 7, 2001, a son Dennis Weidenbach, his parents, a brother Vernon (Helen) Weidenbach, sisters LaVerne (Bob) Bistodeau and Eileen (Frank) McCoy.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Donald Weidenbach will be held on Monday, December 19th at 11:00 A.M. at St. Albert’s Catholic Church in Albertville.  Father Connor McGinnis will be the Celebrant.

Interment will follow at St. Albert’s Cemetery.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, December 18th from 4-8 P.M. at The Peterson Chapel St. Michael-Albertville Funeral Home.  Further visitation will be held on Monday morning, December 19th one hour prior to Mass at the church.

Casket Bearers will be his twelve grandchildren.

The family of Donald Weidenbach would like to thank the staff at Guardian Angels Engel Haus-Albertville for their loving care.   Also, for the many friends he made while he was living there the past twenty-one months.

    I am so sorry to hear about your Dad passing away! He will be greatly missed! My brother just passed away last week and his funeral was this Wednesday! We just have to remember we will see them one day in Heaven where there is no more pain! Love you!

    Our deepest sympathies to Don’s family. I know how hard each Christmas will be for your families. I lost my dad on Christmas Day, 1978.
