Donald J. “Dude” Milless, age 88, of Rogers passed away on Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at his residence.

He was born on August 15, 1922 in Rogers, Minnesota the son of John & Flora (Deschene) Milless.

Dude graduated from Elk River High School in 1941.

He honorably served his Country in The United States Navy having been stationed on The USS Cowpens Aircraft Carrier. The Cowpens was the first U.S. Navel Ship that arrived in Tokyo Bay on August 27, 1945.

On October 14, 1950, Donald J. Milless & Rose Marie Rouillard were joined in holy marriage at St. Martin’s Church in Rogers. God blessed their marriage with four children.

Dude owned and operated Milless Sinclair Service in Rogers for many years. He later was employed at Federal Cartridge for eighteen years. Upon retirement, Dude worked at The Auction Masters in Rogers.

He was a faithful, lifetime member of St. Martin’s Catholic Church and belonged to Knights of Columbus Council # 11941.

Dude was a lifetime member of The Elk River/Rogers V.F.W. Post # 5518 He also served many years as a volunteer on the Rogers Fire Department.

Survived by loving wife of sixty years: Rose Marie Milless; children: Becky (Jerry) Eull of Eagle River, Alaska, Kathy Carron of St. Michael, Don (Maureen) Milless of Motley, and Bill Milless of Minneapolis & fiancé Amy Lind. Grandchildren Chole, Ryan, Brent (Amber), Noah, Maisie, Joshua (Brynn), Ezra, Rose, Emma, Liza, Miranda, Waverly & one great grandchild special buddy, Suede “Buck” Milless; brothers: Henry “Heinie” (Ora) Milless, Edwin Milless, Robert “Bib” (Alice) Milless and John “Jack” (Jerry) Milless; a sister: Joanne (Ron) Bourgeois; a brother in law and sisters-in-law: Jerome (Ferdella) Gmach and Carmen Hawkins; seventy five nieces & nephews, other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents, sisters and a brothers: Florence Milless, Corrine Caron, Adrian Milless, Bernice Bobendrier, Melvin “Buster” Milless, Dorothy Bistodeau and Merriam “Maisie” Gmach.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Donald “Dude” Milless will be held on Tuesday, August 2nd at 11:00 A.M. at Mary Queen of Peace-St. Martin Campus in Rogers. Interment St. Martin Cemetery.

A visitation will be held at the Church on Monday, August 1st from 4-8 P.M. A Knights of Columbus Rosary will be recited at 7:00 P.M. Further visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday morning beginning at 9:00 A.M.

Casket Bearers will be grandchildren.
