Donald J. Greninger, age 88, of rural Monticello passed away on Tuesday, February 14th, 2017 at his residence.

He was born on September 25, 1928 in Otsego Township, Wright County the son of Leo and Annie (Baker) Greninger.

Donald graduated from Elk River High School in 1946.

On September 6, 1952, Donald J. Greninger and Phyllis M. Dahlheimer were joined in holy matrimony at St. Albert’s Catholic Church in Albertville where he was a life, long member.
He was a life, long dairy farmer. As a young man, Donald was a mechanic at Scharber and Sons in Rogers.

He also belonged to The Production Credit Association and NFO.

Survived by his loving wife of sixty four years: Phyllis M. Greninger; ten children: Ingrid (Roger) Manro, Diane (Duane) Nagel, Russell (Sheila) Greninger, Neil Greninger, Chuck (Sandra) Greninger, Tim (Deanna) Greninger, Joan (Thomas) Gindele, Gene (Marjorie) Greninger, Kris (Paul) Brandjord and Matt (Catharine) Greninger; twenty-nine grandchildren, forty-six great grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren; sisters: Thelma Jackson and Anna Mae (Gordon) Ramerth; sister-in-law: Mary Greninger; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by a son Leo, three grandchildren Jeannette, Morgan and Ellen, his parents Leo & Annie, a brother Edward and by four sisters Odelia, Emma, Agnes and Frances.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Donald Greninger will be held on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Albert’s Catholic Church in Albertville.
Interment will follow at St. Albert Cemetery in Albertville.

A visitation will be held on Monday, February 20th from 4-8 P.M. at the church.

Casket Bearers will be his nine grandsons: Jeff Greninger, Todd Greninger, Max Greninger, Ryan Greninger, Mitch Greninger, Luke Gindele, Eli Gindele, Austin Brandjord, Anthony Brandjord and Jason Manro.
