Henry Richard “Dick” West, age 85, of Buffalo, MN passed away at Lake Ridge Care Center in Buffalo after a brief illness on July 23, 2013.

A Celebration of Life Mass will be held at 11:00 AM at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Buffalo on Saturday, July 27th, 2013.

A visitation will be held on Friday, July 26th at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church from 4-7 PM with a rosary service at 7:00 PM. Further visitation will be held one hour prior to services on Saturday.

Entombment at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery.

Dick is survived by his wife of 63 years, Vivian; sister Pat Zappa of St. Paul, MN, seven children Ric (Deb) West, Buffalo, MN; Ginna (Jack) Leeb, Clearwater, MN; Mary, St Cloud, MN; Anne (Dan) Ackmann, Buffalo, MN; Jim (Kate) West, Buffalo, MN; Tim (Kris) West, Maple Grove, MN; John (Chris) West, Buffalo, MN; nineteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Harry and Elvin West and brother Bob West.

Dick was born on April 7, 1928 in Minneapolis, MN the son of C. Hamilton and Elvin (Kalkman) West. He was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting with his children and grandchildren. His family was the most important thing in his life.

Dick was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather who will be missed and never forgotten.

The Peterson Chapel, Buffalo, MN assisted the family with arrangements.
