Derek R Poye, age 28 of St. Michael died Sunday, April 12, 2009 at his residence.
He was born in Virginia, Minnesota on March 17, 1981 the son of Robert J. & Laurie Groth Poye.
Derek graduated from St. Michael-Albertville High School in 1999.
He was formerly employed by Allianz Life Insurance of North America.
Derek enjoyed exploring, computers and the love of his life daughter Teagan.
Survived by a daughter, Teagan Poye, age 4; his parents, Laurie and Karl Royseth of St. Michael; brother, Dylan Royseth of Albertville, sister, Leah Royseth of St. Michael; maternal grandfather, Willard Groth of Hoyt Lakes; paternal grandparents, Ray and Leona Royseth of Babbitt; many other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by his father, Robert J. Poye; grandparents, Bob and Bev Poye and Barb Groth.
Funeral services 2 PM Friday, April 17th at The Peterson Chapel St. Michael-Albertville Funeral Home.
Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home Friday, April 17th from 12 Noon until the time of service.

Derek is and was a great guy, a good friend, and I’ll always remember the good times we had. I am so sorry.
