Derek Allen Rowe, age 9, of Albertville passed away on Friday, October 25, 2013 at U of M Children’s Amplatz in Minneapolis.
He was born on January 18, 2004 in Robbinsdale the son of Robert & Tracy (Larson) Rowe.
Derek was currently a fourth grader at Fieldstone Elementary School.
He enjoyed nature, climbing trees, golfing, fishing, hugging, playing with his friends especially Cam and Andrew. He also enjoyed playing swords and sticks, legos, collecting things, candy, his Ipod, the Northshore and making people laugh.
Survived by his loving parents: Rob & Tracy Rowe of Albertville; twin siblings: Megan & Mitchell Rowe at home; his grandparents: Don & Dianne Rowe, Roger & Carol Larson and Pam & Mike Kroschel; many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Derek Rowe will be held on Wednesday, October 30th, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. at Word of Peace Lutheran Church in Rogers. Pastor Rick Skare will officiate.
Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 29th from 4-8 P.M. at The Peterson Chapel St. Michael-Albertville Funeral Home. Further visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 30th one hour prior at the church.
Casket Bearers will be Lance Mens, Mike Rowe, Tom Gleason, Josh Rowe, Blake Gleason, Roger Larson and Don Rowe.
The Peterson Chapel St. Michael-Albertville Funeral Home is serving the family.

My son Lucas said that Derek was an awesome friend and they loved making each other laugh. We will keep you in our hearts and prayers.
My heart is breaking for you. Derek is a darling boy, so much life ahead of him and so much to live for. This is an unimaginable loss for you all, and the pain is hard to endure. We lost our 8 year old son suddenly in January, he died at Children’s in Minneapolis. I am so sorry another family has to endure this pain. We will pray for you all. God Bless.
