Dennis Duane Olson, was born on July 8, 1953, in Virginia, MN, to Gordon Olson and Dorothy Nelson. He was a hardworking and outspoken man with a great sense of humor and adventure. Dennis was a jack of all trades and excelled in anything he set out to do.

After serving in the Navy for 41/2 years, Dennis worked as a union sheet metal worker and advanced in his profession. He was also involved in fishing tournaments and even invented his own lure. Dennis had a strong love for fishing, hunting, building, remodeling, and working on things. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and taking them on road trips. Making jigs (lures) was one of his favorite hobbies.

Dennis had a passion for cooking and was known for his culinary skills. He particularly loved crab legs, pickled and fresh-fried fish, homemade bread, and homemade cheesecake. He also had a fondness for old country music and admired artists like LeAnn Rimes and Shania Twain.

Despite facing challenges in life, including breaking his neck in three places after falling out of a deer stand, Dennis proved to be indestructible. Against all odds, he walked again and became the strongest man ever known. He was a true testament to resilience and determination.

Above all, Dennis’s greatest joy came from his family and grandchildren. He was United in marriage to Diane Geurtz on February 17, 1979. They were blessed with 45 years of marriage and raised their three children together.

Dennis leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and humor. He impacted the lives of those around him with his stories and adventures, sharing his knowledge and experience. He was a proud VA veteran and had a strong faith as a Lutheran.

He is survived by his wife, Diane; children: Jeremiah (Sam) Olson of Waverly, Steven (Claudia) Olson of Hutchinson, Tami (Craig) Harding of Montrose; Grandchildren: Jaden, Ava, Katlyn & Christopher Olson, Troy, Isaac & Sarah Olson and Emma Olson; brothers: Dillion (Josie) Olson of Clear Lake, IA, Donald (Joey) Olson of Ham Lake, MN and Wade (Susie) Pederson of Sleepy Eye, MN. Many nieces and nephews as well as his extended family and friends. His presence will forever be cherished, and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Dennis Duane Olson is preceded in death by his parents, Gordon Olson and Dorothy Pederson. Also his stepfather Wally Pederson and sister in law Connie Olson.
