Delphie Eleanor Christine Eng died peacefully Saturday, September 22, 2018 at the Lake Ridge Manor Oasis, Buffalo, MN.
Delphie was born in rural Buffalo on April 24, 1915 to Lydia (Erickson) and Nels Bergquist.
Delphie attended the Mill Creek School until the 8th grade. She assisted her ailing mother at home with the three younger siblings. Later she worked as a housekeeper for Dr. Catlin in Buffalo and at homes in Maple Plain and Minneapolis.
She was married to Paul Eng on July 14, 1946. To this union three sons were born, also a daughter, who died shortly after birth.
Delphie lived a full life of giving and service to others. In 2015, at her 100th birthday, she was presented with an honorary high school diploma and two lemon meringue pies.
After Paul Eng’s death in Sept. 1998, Delphie lived independently at Woodmere Apts. for 17 years.
She enjoyed singing with the Victory Band from Buffalo Covenant Church. Her final four years were spent at Lake Ridge Manor and Care Center where she received excellent care and fellowship.
Delphie died at the age of 103.
She is preceded in death by parents; husband; sisters Doris Bergquist and Ruth (Bergstrom); and brothers Paul and Marvin.
Delpie is survived by her sons Bruce (Julie) of Payton, CO, Robert (Jing) of Minneapolis, Roger (Cindy) of Norwood Young America, MN; grandchildren Abraham, Nathan, and Caleb (Crystal), Laura and Eric, Richard (Ashley and great-granddaughter Ella), Reginald and Kai Rose; brother Ray (Marilyn) Bergquist.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 28, 11:00 a.m. at Buffalo Covenant Church in Buffalo. Pastor Reid Gilbert will be officiating.
Family and friends are invited to meet the family at the church on Friday, September 28th from 9:30 – 11 a.m.
Interment will be at the Swedish Mission Cemetery followed by a luncheon at the Buffalo Evangelical Covenant Church.
The casket bearers will be Eric Eng, Craig Bergstrom, Reginald Eng, Doug Bergquist, John Bergquist, and Gary Bergstrom.

Delphie will always live on in the hearts of those she touched. Delphie was an amazing woman, I will always cherish everything she taught me and the time I spent with her. My condolences go out to her son’s she spoke highly of Bruce, Bob; Roger, her brother Ray and their families. God Bless You All.

Roger, our deepest sympathy to you and your extended family on the loss of your mom. So glad you and Cindy have been able to live in fairly close proximity and were able to provide encouragement to her during the last years of her life. She was a wonderful Christian lady.
