Debra Donn Johnson (Elliott)
On the morning of February 16, 2013, while surrounded by family, Debb passed through the gates of heaven and is safe in the arms of her loving father. Debb was born on December 26, 1950 to Donald and Glo Elliott in Minneapolis, MN. She graduated from Staples High School in 1968. She married Barry Johnson on February 8, 1969 and on March 11, 1973 they welcomed a loving son, Richard, into their life. She was employed at the Buffalo House Restaurant, Market Place, Silver Fox Inn and at Eagan Transport for 17 years before retiring and moving from Eagan to their home in the woods of Motley, MN.
Debb will always be remembered for her love of baking, camping, Chinese food, and the ever famous Elliott family reunions. She had a contagious smile, love for laughter, and an up-lifting spirit. Debb’s strength through her journey with breast cancer was an inspiration to everyone. Her ability to see beyond the diagnosis and to never give up, to live in the moment, and to never be afraid is the legacy she has given to her family and friends.
Debb is survived by her husband Barry Johnson of Motley; son, Richard (Heather) of Buffalo; stepsons, Shawn (Kelly) of Brainerd and Jason (Stephanie) of Motley; grandchildren, Nicholas Pete, Christopher Paul, Erika Donn, & Charles Richard, Adam, Aubrey, Brady, Cory, Jessica, Christina & Brianna; mother, Glo Elliott of Buffalo; siblings, Wayne (Kay) Elliott, Nancy (Jim) LaFave, Brian (Cindy Vanlith) Elliott, Pat (Jim) Dearing, Pam (Kim) Barse, Tedd (Cheryl Hemphill) Elliott, Dawn (Dennis) Stuhr, Gary (Brenda) Elliott, Kim (Steve) Bruhn; brother-in-law, Doug (Mary Lou) Sapp . Also, her beloved cats Muffin, Max, Spank, and Mikey.
Preceded in death by her father, Donald Elliott; grandson, Anthony; sister-in-law, Lynne Sapp.
A special thank you to Ginny Lynn for the perfect transition to her eternal life with her beautiful and powerful prayer. Thank you to Brenda and Heartland Hospice, the Oncology staff at St. Joseph’s Medical Centre, Brainerd and the MN Oncology team in Burnsville.
In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the humane society and to further Breast Cancer Research.

Oh, my, will I miss her! She and I were pretty much the “chubbies” in the family. Just think, Debb, no more dieting!

    Mom,
You are missed! Rejoice in heaven and say hi to those we know and love. Rock Anthony and kiss him for us, sing him that lullaby just as you did for our other babies. You had that magical touch that only a grandma could. Amazing, beautiful, selfless, fun woman! We love you!
