Deborah Jane Hayes (Debbie) 76, of Naples, FL entered eternal rest on April 9, 2024. She bravely succumbed to a decade-long battle with dementia. Born in Minneapolis on 5/10/1947 to Earl & Marian Fredrickson, she spent most of her adult life in Montrose, MN. Therein, she worked over 30 years for the School District, was an active volunteer for several different organizations and a beloved Sunday School Teacher at St Paul’s Lutheran Church.

Her Grandson and greatest joy AJ, was born in 2015. After which, she relocated to Anoka, MN to be closer to him. Finally, Debbie joined both her daughters & their families in Florida. She spent her days in the sun and was delighted by the numerous visits from her sisters and friends who traveled south to escape the cold winters.

She is survived by daughters Sarah (Brian) Childers, Amanda (Alex & AJ) Peterson, Sisters Karen Mason, Jean (Don) Kolstad, Brothers in law Marvin Bursch, David Pearson, and many Cousins, Nieces & Nephews.

Debbie was preceded in death by her Parents, Sisters Lori Jo, Judy, Chersti, Brother-in-law Chuck and numerous loved ones.

She was an organ donor and is leaving her cerebrum to the Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center at Mayo Clinic, with the hope that her contribution can assist in finding a cure for Alzheimer’s/Dementia disease.

In lieu of cards or flowers – the family asks that individuals who wish to express condolences do so by donating to a charity of their choice in Debbie’s name.

A private interment will be held.

Thank you for choosing this picture of Debbie, it’s how I remember her. Smiling and happy, which she is now sharing that with her heavenly Father. As a classmate and friend for well into adulthood, until I lost contact, she will never be forgotten. My deepest sympathy to family and all who cherished her friendship.
