Deanna “Dede”, age 45, of Rockford.

Born on July 27, 1964 in Minneapolis the daughter of William & Loretta (Wahlin) Kankelfitz.

Active supporter and member of the arts.

Dede was a faithful member of Riverwood Covenant Church in Rockford. She participated in 4 Community Theatre, volunteered at RiverWorks Food Shelf and sang in “Carpe Diem.”

Survived by husband: Ed; children: Tasha (Matthew) Rennels, Danielle Dunn and Sid Wright; her mother: Loretta Smith; siblings: Chris (Gary) Rich, Scott (Franke) Kankelfitz and Lyn (Mike) Silbernagel; half sisters: Carrie Kankelfitz-Coach and Angie Ansah; step sister: Missy Nystrom; foster parents: William & Eunice Benson; father-in-law & mother-in-law: Bob & Bonnie Stevens; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

Preceded in death by her father: William R. Kankelfitz.

Funeral service 1:00 P.M. Wednesday Our Father’s Lutheran Church in Rockford.

Visitation 4-8 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home. Prayer service 7:00 P.M. Further visitation at the Church Wednesday one hour prior to service.
