David Mitchell Senstad, age 53, of Buffalo, Minnessota, passed away Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale.

David was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on September 13, 1957 the son of Paul D. and Doris (Hegrenes) Senstad. He grew up in Golden Valley and then lived in Hopkins before moving to Buffalo 24 years ago.

David owned and operated Specialty Coachworks with his partner in Maple Grove. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Buffalo and was also very active in the Boys Scouts Troop 358 and Cub Scouts Troop 358 in Buffalo where he was the Assistant Cub Master in the pack and helped with leadership in the patrol. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and motorsport racing.

David is survived by his loving wife: Carol (Larson) Senstad; sons, Paul David Senstad and Grant Mitchell Senstad; mother, Doris (Hegrenes) Senstad; sisters, Louise Ruschoff and Karen (Steve) Pouliot; brother, Donald (Lucy) Senstad; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Dave (Louisa) Larson, Nancy (Gary) Krcil and Sharon (Richard) Phelps. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

David was preceded in death by his father, Paul D. Senstad and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Gladys (Holasek) Larson and Bennett Larson.

A funeral service will be held 11:00am on Monday, February 7, 2011 at Zion Lutheran Church in Buffalo. Pastor Ted Vanderpan will officiate.

A visitation will be held at the church on Sunday from 4-8pm with a prayer service at 7:30pm. Further visitation will be held Monday at the church from 10am until the time of service.

Honorary casket bearers will be: Mike Krcil, Mark Krcil, Ben Larson, Gregg Phelps, Ryan Ruschoff and Joe Pouliot.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to the Buffalo Boy Scouts Troop 358 and Cub Scouts Pack 358.

    I will miss him greatly, but I know that he is watching over his family and mine. I have so many fond memories of growing up with the help of my auntie Carol and uncle Dave. I look forward to continuing to make great memories with his family. I love you, Uncle Dave, and you will always be in my heart. May you rest in peace.
