April 7, 1943 – February 3, 2023

David F. Randel, age 79, of Buffalo passed away on Friday, February 3, 2023 at his residence.

He was born on April 7, 1943 in Buffalo the son of Fredrick & Mabel (Street) Randel.

He was baptized on May 1, 1943 at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Buffalo.    He was also instructed in the Lutheran catechism and confirmed in the Christian faith on May 12, 1957.

Dave graduated from Buffalo High School in 1961.

He honorably served his Country in The United States Army Reserve.

On July 3, 1975, David F. Randel and Margaret Lepinski were joined in holy marriage at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Buffalo.  Pastor Berwald officiated at the wedding ceremony.   God blessed their marriage with a son Patrick David Randel.  Patrick preceded his father in death on June 11, 1998.

David was a devoted husband and father!  Farming was his passion.   He loved his Hereford cattle and knew each of them by name.  He also enjoyed the lake, waterskiing, fishing, yardwork and the coffee group at Cub Foods.

He was an avid Gophers basketball fan and held season tickets for sixty-one years.

He was a life-long active member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Buffalo.   David also belonged to The Buffalo American Legion Post.

In addition to his son, David was preceded in death by his parents, sisters: Jean (Willis) Birkholz and Joan (Reuben) Streich and by a nephew Steven Birkholz.

Survived by his loving wife: Margaret Randel; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Michael (Lorrie) Lepinski, Jim (Pam) Lepinski, Judy (Brian) Loberg, Joe (Renee) Lepinski,  Johnny (Janice) Lepinski and Mary (Brian) Benson; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

    My condolences to Magaret and the rest of his family.Dave was my best friend all throughout grade school and high school. He was the best man at my wedding. He was always popular as evidenced by his being elected prsident of the senior class. We will all miss him.
