Daryl John Carlson, age 67, of South Haven, MN passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at his residence.

He was born on July 26, 1956 in St. Francis, MN the son of John P. “Jack” and Joyce M. (Heidelberger) Carlson.

Daryl honorably served his country in United States Navy for twenty-four years from 1973 to 1997.  He retired as a Navy Chief E7.  Daryl later worked at The Buffalo Hospital in Registration from 1998 until his passing.

He was a Union Steward for S.E.I.U. Local #113.  Daryl enjoyed playing cards and softball.

Survived by his loving wife Wilai Carlson; children Steven Carlson, Timothy (Sara) Carlson and Cherie Carlson; three grandchildren; his mother Joyce M. Carlson; a brother David (Betty) Carlson; other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by his father in 2004.

A memorial service for Daryl J. Carlson will be held on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at 3:00 PM at Zion Lutheran Church.  Pastor Kari Bahe will officiate.

Visitation will take place at the church on Wednesday, June 12th from 1:00 – 3:00 PM.

The Peterson Chapel, Buffalo, MN assisted the family with funeral arrangements.

    Wilai, I’m so sorry for the loss of Daryl. I used to work in the laboratory at Buffalo Hospital about 17 years ago and fondly remember both you and Daryl. He had a smile and a sense of humor that will never be forgotten. My heartfelt condolences to you and Steven.
