Daniel John Geske was born July 7, 1944 to Frederick and Judaea (Doyle) Geske in Minneapolis, MN. He attended Washburn High School and one quarter at St Cloud State. He left college to go out to California for a few months before coming back to Minnesota. Uncle Sam came calling and he was drafted by the U.S. Army. He was stationed in South Korea. Dan was medically discharged after being injured by military equipment. With his GI Bill he attended barber school. He married Susan Bridges on February 23, 1968. They had a daughter and a son. In 1978, they moved to Silver Bay, MN where he was a partner at the town barbershop. They moved back to the Twin Cities in 1986, when the taconite industry began to fail. Dan and Sue eventually divorced and shortly there after, he moved to Dalbo, MN where he was in his element with 30 acres out of the city.

Dan loved being outdoors and being busy. He had a passion for hunting, Harley’s, Mustangs and collecting guns.

Along with other jobs after moving back to the Twin Cities, he continued to barber part time up until his death.

Dan is survived by his daughter Dawn (Matt) Ruppert; son Michael Calavicci; granddaughter Vanessa Calavicci; brothers and sisters: David (Deborah) Geske, Louise Geske, Mary Marty, Paul (Gale) Geske and Ann (Jon) Martin; former wife, Susan Bridges; also many nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Dan is preceded in death by his parents: Rev. F.E.Geske and Judaea (Doyle) Geske
