Dan Pobuda, 79, of Buffalo, MN passed away Monday, February 1, 2021 surrounded by his family.

Dan was born in Minneapolis, MN on October 30, 1941. He joined the Navy in August of 1959 and was honorably discharged in 1965. Soon after, he worked for NSP in multiple positions until retiring in 1997 as a System Relay Specialist. After retirement, he worked as bailiff for the Wright County Sheriff’s Office for over five years.

Throughout his life, Dan was a loving partner to his “sweetie” Jean, a dedicated father, and special friend to many. His kind heart and faithfulness were immediately apparent to anyone he crossed paths with. He loved to hunt, fish, and spend time in the great outdoors. He was always up for playing cards, especially cribbage. Dan and Jean enjoyed their dogs, trips up north, and attending their grandchildren’s baseball, dance, softball, soccer and figure skating activities.

He is preceded in death by his parents George and Delphia Pobuda, and Brothers Richard and Charles Pobuda.

Dan is survived by his lifelong partner, Jean Pohlmann, children Travis (Jody), Erin (Andrew), Aimee (Steve), sister Carole, and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends.

A private service is being held on February 13th, 2021 at The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo, Minnesota. Public visitation will be 12-3pm.

My condolences. I am deeply saddened by this news. Dan trained me along with others in the Electric Protection Department at NSP. Always took good care of me and I was with him the day I made journeyman. He had a great influence on me and I will greatly miss him. Privileged to be able to call him a friend.

My deepest sympathy to Jean and all the Pobuda family. I met Dan up at Voyagers National Park many years ago. He invited me to fish with him in his boat, and he showed me some good fishing spots, and was a wonderful person to be around. We stayed in the same campground, and it was a true pleasure to have known him.

My sympathy to the family. Travis and Erin I used to babysit you when you were just little ones. Your Dad was a wonderful and kind man. I always enjoyed visiting with him when I would bump into him. May the many wonderful memories you have stay with you and help you through this difficult time.

”To love deeply is one of life’s most profound gifts, and the loss of a loved one is one of life’s most profound tragedies. That they can happen simultaneously, and that we somehow manage to, one day, find even a morsel of joy in our hearts again, is profoundly and wonderfully mysterious.” – Joanne Cacciatore.

Jean, Travis, Erin, Amy and all Dan’s loving family – In every story told and with every memory shared, may the light and love of Dan Pobuda always shine. Wishing you comfort as you gather to remember, to cry, to laugh. to love and to grieve.
