DALE HARRIS: 10.18.1946 – 12.04.2019

Dale Russell Harris, age 73, who lived in Becker, Minnesota, formerly from Santa Rosa, California and Albany, New York, has left us. He passed Wednesday morning December 4, 2019 at St. Cloud Hospital, in Minnesota, after a sudden event.

He was born in Albany, New York to Shirley J Harrington (Jenkins) and Oramond Frost on October 18, 1946. He was the first of three children, which included Bonnie Bastainon (Frost) and Scott Harris.

Dale is survived by his wife Cheryl Harris, sister, Bonnie, and children Janet & Kerry Bierman, Dale Harris Jr, Kelly & Don Long, Terry & Cathy Berthiaume, Donna Berthiaume-Anderson, Deana & Greg Ossanna, plus numerus grand kids and great grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews and greats.

He joins his younger brother Scott, parents, Shirley and Oramond, and his Grandparents John & Helen Jenkins.

Dale’s wishes were simple, no cost, no fuss and no probate.  We gathered at Cheryl and Dale’s home, with family friends and neighbors who could make it, to celebrate his life. Please do not be offended or take it to heart if you were unable to make it, we did it quickly for time, but may plan another day towards spring for the renewal of faith and remembrance.

In Life Dale worked many jobs, first as a custodian and bus driver for the Sonoma County School District in Santa Rosa, California.  He later worked at A&B Supermarket in Santa Rosa, where he belonged to the union and became a Journeymen Clerk. He volunteered for the Bellevue Fire Department and worked on remodeling the family home in Santa Rosa.  Dale then renounced alcohol and turned the page to sobriety. With his sobriety he started riding motorcycles and touring the United States with Dry Riders, making new, long lasting friendships. He began his handyman service (Services Rendered) which he worked at for the last of his working days.  Retirement allowed more trips, but was short lived due to health issues. Ever ready for adventure and still needing to see more, he bought a convertible to see the sights in.  This brought him to Minnesota, where he settled in and made a home.

Dale had an adventures life, which included the sea, waterways and the dirt roads that he followed. Fishing, snorkeling, hunting for abalone and riding his Goldwing motorcycles were always his passion.  He was quick witted and mischievous, always looking for the angles and ready to drop his teeth in your hand (literally) for a good laugh.  He was also always ready to fight, even for a penny, if he knew it was a good fight.  He enjoyed a good story (usually to be the one telling it), having fun, riding the motorcycle (without a helmet), seeing new sights (map, maps, and more maps) and to watch the birds, deer and squirrels that eat, ran, and played in the back yard; his park as he called it.  He loved his wife, children and extended family both near and far, never wanting to say goodbye he would rather like to start another story.

May this not be the ending to his story, but his newest adventure with no more pain, not a helmet in need nor a map required.  Ride on Dad with much love, your loved ones left here for now.
