Upon leaving his 50th year class reunion Dale Peterson 67, lifelong resident of Buffalo, suddenly passed away and entered the gates of Heaven.
Dale and his twin brother Dave were born on October 24, 1943 to Burton and Lorna Larson Peterson in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Dale served four years in the United States Navy. Dale married Rosie Varner on August 10, 1968 at Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Watertown, South Dakota. Dale and Rosie’s marriage was blessed their adopted son Keith in 1981. Dale worked for Graco, Inc. for 34 years and took over as manager for an 8-unit apartment building after his father’s death in 2008.
Dale was a generous, loving family man, who was devoted to Jesus and gave to many charities. Dale was the type of person who would give anybody the shirt off his back, but did not want any recognition of his good deeds. Dale enjoyed collecting antiques and coins. Dale loved his dogs Clyde and Sparky; he enjoyed feeding them hot fudge sundaes.
Dale is preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Michael Peterson and David Peterson.
Dale is survived by his wife Rosie, son Keith (Kathy) Peterson, and three children from a previous marriage; daughter Hannah “Bunny” (Steve) Orange, and sons William “Billy” (Helen) Donegan, John “Jay” Donegan, sisters Karen (Dabet) Ngandali and Donna (Gary) Hopkins, two sister-in-laws, Carol Peterson and Carolyn Gullings, 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
A funeral service will be held for Dale Peterson at 11:00 a.m. on Friday September 23, at the Buffalo Covenant Church. Visitation will be held Friday September 23, at the Buffalo Covenant Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment at the Swedish Mission cemetery with military rites will follow the funeral service.

My uncle. My second dad. You leave a very large hole here on Earth… but oh, the smiles you added in Heaven on Saturday night.

Much love… until you meet me at the gate.

    Dear Peterson Family,
Sorry to hear of your loss. May the Lord give you strength through this time.

I attended high school with Dale and his brothers. His Dad was my school bus driver. Now the whole Peterson family is gone, the special ones that I grew up with.

May the Lord Bless you and may His face shine upon you!

    Love to you all,

    Karl E Honenstein
