Cullin Edward McEachern, age 25 of Buffalo, passed away on April 2, 2020.

He was born in St. Paul, Minnesota on February 14, 1995 to Garin and Molly (Kurzhals) McEachern. Cullin attended Buffalo High School and graduated with the class of 2013.

Cullin was known for his kind soul. He could easily make friends with just about anyone because of how easy going he was. Not only was he genuine and caring, he had a smart and witty sense of humor! He had a passion for being in the outdoors; camping and canoeing were among his favorite outdoor activities. He loved nature and animals of all kinds as well.

He was a member of a band with his friends called The Carnegies, and would often play in shows in the local area. Cullin played the keyboard and other percussion instruments. He worked at Puzzles, an escape room game, and designed video games with his friends.

Cullin is preceded in death by his grandpa, Jack McEachern; great-grandma, Marion Kurzhals; and uncle, Robert McEachern.

He is survived by his parents, Garin and Molly; sister, Sadie; half-sister, Ashley Webb; grandparents, Robert (Mary Ellen) Kurzhals, Terri Kurzhals, and Ruth (George) Shoemaker; uncles, Doug, Mike, and Dana McEachern, aunts, Cheryl Matthes, Elizabeth Grosenheider, Jamie Ward, and Miranda Kurzhals; and many other relatives and special friends.

A Memorial Service for Cullin will be held Thursday, August 6th, 2020 at 11 AM with visitation one hour prior at St. Francis Xavier Church in BUffalo, MN.

    I MISS you Cullin!
And now, dear brothers and sisters, we want you to know what will happen to the believers who have died so you will not grieve like people who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and was raised to life again, we also believe that when Jesus returns, God will bring back with him the believers who have died.

Cullin was silly funny. He had the heart of a hippie. Most contemplative. He will be missed by many besides me. Many. You can never be replaced. I hope you knew how much you were loved by everyone who knew you. You were such an unique dude and a very good percussionist. I wish I could have been there for you.

Rest easy and rock on babe.

Cullin was one of the best friends you could ever ask for, all of his friends would agree. He was willing to go out of his way to help a friend, he was hilarious, witty, talented, unique, and he had a very kind heart. We’re gonna miss him, because he WAS our brother and band mate for life. I love you Cullin, I’m going to miss you every single day.

Cullin, we will miss your gentle, creative, giving and loving soul. You leave us memories so sweet and cherished, your beautiful grin and fun loving humor. There were so many different sides to you and many I’m still discovering. You were and are beautiful inside and out. You will be truly missed Cullin, and loved forever by us all. You have left many tracks across our hearts. I know you just had to beat us down the pathway to see what is ahead, but we will catch up with you soon enough. You go and rest with our Lord and savior Christ Jesus. God Bless you and love you, auntie Leah and uncle Al

Cullin was kind, loving, caring, smart, and had a great sense of humor that was truly unparalleled. He also was incredibly creative and came up with amazing ideas all the time, artistically and practically. He was also the only person I’ve ever met that shared my level of passion for nature. The “let’s go run through the forest barefoot and gawk at mushrooms & flowers” kind.

In just a couple of years, we became very close and he easily became the most important person in my life besides my daughter. He will never be forgotten to me.

I will always love you Cullin, I miss you every day and probably will for the rest of my life. I hope one day that I will get to see you again.

Cullin was one of my oldest friends since 2nd grade. When Cullin moved in 5th grade we reconnected years later and learned we developed into the same person, long hair, psychedelic clothing and just as good as friends as we always been. He was very attentive to detail, he could find any stray threads on clothing and would come by with the scissors to help you. He knew in an instant if something was bothering someone and he was the first to ask if they were ok. Even if I thought I was hiding it pretty well Cullin somehow knew and would ask what’s wrong. He knew everybody well because he cared. I’m so proud I knew him and got to share a band together, a art team together, and be as close as brothers. Love you forever man.

There are no words that can console your heartache. Hoping God’s words can offer some peace knowing Cullin is now face to face with our Creator and Lord:
“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Daily prayers offered for all who love him.

As I read all the nice things Cullin’s friends have to say about him, I realize how fast time has gone and how little I actually knew about him. Most of my memories are of a much younger Cullin. I’m so sorry I didn’t know him better. To hear about his talents, his personality and his character says to me that you did a great job raising a son that everyone loved. You should be proud of him and yourselves.

My precious Cullin…Where do I even begin. You were the joy of my heart. We held such a special bond, as you were my only Grandson for sixteen years. You had such a personality that was so endearing. I still hear you saying “Hi Grandma”, and saying “Goodbye Grandma, I love you”. Your hugs were most precious as you let me hug you for a long time. I held you when you were born. I watched every step of you grow up. What a blessing you have been. And Grandma held you and touched you one more time in your final passing. I will see you again my love.

You are always my brother. I’ll never forget the time I met you in 2nd grade. You were so funny and the most wild person I knew. You were always so smart for how young we were, the kindest soul to all, and I always looked up to you. I have known you for 18 years, and feel you as a constant part of my life. Even though I left home for school and whatnot, I always cherished the few times I’d visit you each year. I’ll always think of you Cullin. I’ll never forget shooting off illegal fireworks in 3rd grad, or staying up until 3 am playing Xbox and drinking call of duty. My best childhood memories all involve you. You are my best friend always, and I hope you are at peace pal. Going back home to MN won’t be the same. Rest easy, I’ll play some Mongolian throat singing and odd Italian rap songs for you. I love you Cullin; miss you like crazy.

I think if there were to be a word to describe Cullin that most of us who knew him would use, it would be either funny or kind. Definitely the two words that come to my mind most often. He had sadness in his heart, and I believe he wanted no one else to feel that way. So he cooked for friends and family, and always always always made people crack up. It’s very hard to think of times where we weren’t laughing, even when we vented about our struggles. I know he and I hadn’t kept in much contact through high school or for a few years after, but when we reconnected it was as if no time had passed.

He was my first best friend in Kindergarten. First friends house I went to from Kindergarten. First person to ignite my imagination- that boy could whip up amazing stories or scenes when we would play with toy guns or swords in the yard. Also the first person to introduce me to metal and different kinds of music other than Led Zeppelin. And first person shooter games hahah.

I think I’ll miss the jokes and the laughter the most. It felt so comfortable being in a room with him. Always a guaranteed good time. I know we’ll see you again, on the other side, and pick up right where we left off.

I miss you so much, buddy. Love ya.
