Clyde Stanley Marquette, age 80, of Buffalo, passed away Thursday, November 4, 2010 at Lake Ridge Care Center, in Buffalo, Minnesota.
Clyde Stanley Marquette was born January 15, 1930 on the family farm in Buffalo, Minnesota to Ralph and Ida (Hoffman) Marquette. He grew up in rural Buffalo and attended country school. After school Clyde remained on the family farm while his brothers went off to serve in the military. Clyde was united in marriage to Donna Mae Mildred Kriedman on November 25, 1951. To this union six children were born. The family lived in South Haven where Clyde worked construction in the 49ers Union. He retired due to health problems in 1974. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, playing cards and visiting with family and friends.
Clyde is survived by his children; Julie Ann (Larry) Looman of Jackson, Missouri, Vicki (Camden) Marklowitz of Larkspur, Colorado, Wayne (Karen) Marquette, of South Haven, Ralph (Michelle) Marquette of Canyon, Minnesota, Eileen Ranta Marquette and special friend Larry Sheldon of Kimball, Minnesota and Joy Nelson of South Haven; 17 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren and Clydes special friend Bernadine Buranen of South Haven. Clyde is also survived by his siblings; Floyd “Bud” (Celia) of Waverly, Douglas(Elaine) of Buffalo, Myles (Irene) Fair Haven, Ervin (Carol) of Clear Lake, Dennis “Joe” (Jan) of South Haven, Clark “Butch” (Shirley) of Chokio, and Ida “Maggie” Alama of Cyrus.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph & Ida Marquette, three brothers, Gene, John and Benjamin, and one sister Pauline Stumpf.
Services are Monday, November 8, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at the Peterson Chapel in Buffalo, Minnesota, with the Rev. Rudolph H. Maurer Jr. officiating. Visitation will be Sunday 4pm to 7pm and continue Monday one hour prior to services at the Peterson Chapel in Buffalo. Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Buffalo, Minnesota.
Honorary Casket Bearers include; Chad Looman, Joseph Marquette, Benjamin Ranta, Samuel Ranta, Braeden Nelson and Dylon Nelson, Heather Vinson, Miranda Brown, Amanda Schlagel, Kristina Nistler and Gabrielle Nistler.
Active Casket Bearers include; Greg Looman, Joshua Marklowitz, Robert Marquette, Clyde Marquette, Cory Looman and Jason Ranta.
