Clayton Melvin Fevig
Age 90 of Howard Lake, passed away peacefully Saturday, April 23, 2016. He was born December 25, 1925, the son of Anton and Olava (Gilbertson) Fevig.
On February 6, 1967, Clayton M. Fevig and Shirley A. Parkin were joined in marriage in Watertown, South Dakota.
Clayton worked for Donaldson’s Department Store for 29 years; Sheyenne Public School in Sheyenne, North Dakota; and as a night watchman in Sheyenne, North Dakota.
He enjoyed gardening, reading western books, and putting together puzzles. He was also quite the handyman, building 2 garages and digging a basement by hand with a shovel.
Preceded in death by his parents, Anton and Olava; brothers, Leonard and Harry; sisters, Elida and Lenore; brother-in-law, Jack and Robert; and step-son, Duane Kennedy.
He will be missed by his wife of 49 years, Shirley; children, Pat, Merla, Lenny; grandchildren, Chris, Sandra, Shelly, Jon, Duane; great-grandchildren, Austin, Evan, Emalynn, Layton, Ryder; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Funeral services for Clayton will be held Tuesday, April 26 at 11:00 AM at The Peterson Chapel in St. Michael with Pastor Erica Kennedy officiating. Interment at Morningside Memorial Gardens in Coon Rapids.
Honorary casket bearer will be Arlo Haagenstad.
Casket bearers will be Steve Santema, Miles Johnston, Duane Parkin, Jon Benson, Duane Johnston, Joe Brown, and Jerry Parkin.
