Clarice Mae Sherman, age 89, of Buffalo passed away on Monday, April 20, 2009 at Lake Ridge Care Center in Buffalo.

She was born on May 18, 1919 in Buffalo Township, Wright County the daughter of Louis & Mathilda Bonstrom Hafften. On September 16, 1939, Clarice M. Hafften & Walter Ordorff were joined in holy marriage at The Parsonage of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Buffalo. God blessed their marriage with a son. Walter and Clarice worked the family farm and raised chickens. Walter preceded Clarice in death in 1980. She eventually sold the family home and moved into town. She loved her new life on the go. Clarice spent many hours sewing quilts and went on frequent trips with the Buffalo Senior Group. It was at Senior Citizens that she met Delmas Sherman. On July 19, 1986, Clarice M. Ordorff & Delmas C. Sherman were joined in holy marriage at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Buffalo. Del preceded Clarice in death in 1993. Clarice formerly worked at Wonderalls for ten years. She was a faithful member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Buffalo and belonged to its Sewing Club. Clarice also was a member and former secretary of The Buffalo Senior Citizens. She especially enjoyed their afternoon card parties. Clarice and Del were crowned “King and Queen” of The Wright County Seniors in 1987. Living alone got to be too much for her and Clarice’s final seven years were spent at Lake Ridge Care Center. From the very beginning, she loved all of the activities there. She was also very fond of getting her nails and hair done at Lake Ridge because it was always important to Clarice to look her best!

Survived by a son: Robert T. Ordorff of Buffalo; a grandson: Scott Ordorff of Minneapolis; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husbands, Clarice was preceded in death by her parents: Louis & Tillie Hafften, four brothers: Walter, Keith, John and Russell Hafften and by a sister: Bernice Reynolds.
