Claire E. Shield-Savitski passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at her beautiful home with her loving husband, Robert Savitski by her side.
She is survived by her children, Alice Moe of Saint Paul, Andrew Savitski of Albertville and Miguel Savitski of Saint Michael; and her sister, Gloria Robinson of Brainerd, MN.
Her mother, Alice May Shield and her brother, Reginald Shield, preceded her in death.
Claire was born December 3, 1946, in Bigglewades, Bedfordshire, England United Kingdom as Claire E Shield. In the mid-1970s she immigrated to Minnesota to live, where she has lived ever since. She was the youngest of three and married Robert A. Savitski in September 1979. Claire raised three children of her own, and fourteen foster children with her husband.
She has requested instead of sending flowers a donation be made to her youngest son, Miguel Savitski for his education fund. A donation may be sent to the Claire Savitski Memorial Fund at Community Development Bank, 12725 43rd St, St. Michael, MN 55376.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at 11:00 AM, with a visitation one hour prior, at Living Hope Church, 24550 Territorial Rd, Rogers, MN.

I have not seen Claire in many years but she was my daughter’s preschool teacher and we absolutely loved her! I know she will be missed by so many!

Claire had such a big, open heart! She became a part of my life as a little girl after my mother passed away suddenly. I have no doubt that God sent her to us. Claire was a loving caregiver and a foundation to our family when I was a young boy after losing our mother. She had a profound influence on me as I was growing up, and I won’t ever forget her. R.I.P. Claire, I love you. – Rob
I worked in the STMA Middle school office for 20 years and got to know claire through that time. She always was kind, pleasant and caring when she visited. What a wonderful person she was to take in so many foster children and give them the structure and love they needed. Rest in peace Claire
Claire was a beautiful woman with whom I had the honor to work over the last ten years. She was a wonderful foster and adoptive mother and she will be greatly missed. Thoughts and prayers are with her family during this difficult time.
