With our great sadness, Chris Braun passed away on February 5, 2018 at the age of 46 alongside her family in her husband’s arms. She boldly battled cancer for the past 12 years, alongside her family, proudly living for Jesus every step of the way. She believed for her miracle of healing, and received them, and is truly completely healed in heaven. Chris lived life upbeat, optimistic and with a smile. She was a light in the darkness, proclaiming her faith and the goodness of God. Chris lived by Psalms 27:1 “The LORD is my light and my salvation— whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life— of whom shall I be afraid?” She was not afraid!
Chris was born on December 21, 1971 in Brainerd to Dale and Joan Swift. She has 2 brothers, Dale and Don and 4 loving grandparents. Chris graduated from Brainerd High School and went to St. Cloud State University. Upon graduation, she moved to the Twin Cities to be an accountant. In 1997, Chris met Eric Braun at work and started dating. Chris married her best friend, Eric, on May 15, 1999 and shortly after moved to St. Michael. They have 3 precious kids Tyler (17), Kaitlyn (15), and Nikki (12). Chris spent her time at countless sporting events cheering on those kids. She cherished family time, from boating, camping, travelling to 44 states in the many RV trips, sewing, gardening, fashion, shopping, bible studies and her love of reading. She took great pride in driving erratically “attempting” to knock off her wonderful family off the tubes. Every morning, Chris could be found on her chair in the living room doing her bible study, reading the bible, and praying for us.
Chris was a loving wife, mother, aunt, sister, daughter and friend to many. She will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations, which will be put into an education fund for Tyler, Kaitlyn and Nikki and for additional charities, such as Caring Bridge.
We loved to see Chris’s smile every time we saw her and her kindness towards everyone. Our prayers are with you and your family.
Words can’t express the heartbreak we feel for the loss of Chris. Your family is in our thoughts and prayers. Sending our love and support. May you all find peace in knowing she lives on through her faith, hope and love…and lives on in you, the family she loved so much.
