Visitation Information

Charles Lampe Amundsen, age 78, of St. Michael, MN, passed away on Sunday, August 1, 2010, at Sunrise Cottages in Buffalo, MN.

He was born on November 11, 1931 in Anchorage, AK, the son of Ernest and Victoria Lampe Amundsen.

Mr. Amundsen honorably served his Country in the United States Air Force.

Charles graduated from The University of Minnesota with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.

He was formerly employed at Onan Corporation in Fridley, MN, and Kluge Design in New Hope, MN. Mr. Amundsen also formerly owned Chief Products in Grand Rapids, MN.

Survived by loving wife: Marion; children: Nancy (Phillip) Petersen of Becker, MN, and Chris (Bridget) Amundsen of Plymouth, MN; grandchildren: Amy and Jenny Petersen, Aaron and Emily Amundsen; a brother: Ernest (Mary Ellen) Amundsen of Lewiston, ID; other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents, and two siblings: Iver Amundsen and Betty Webster.

A time of gathering was held Thursday, August 5th from 7-9 P.M. at the funeral home, 119 Central Avenue, in Buffalo.

    Marion and family, I am so sorry for the loss of your husband of 55 years. I am so glad I called and talked with you and Chuck earlier. My father so enjoyed his visit to Minnesota where he and Chuck shared so much – before my father’s passing. God Bless you and your family as you walk this new path of grief.
