places including Park View Care Center into her early 90’s. Catherine was an avid reader, completed many beautiful needlework pieces, an excellent cook, especially known for her pies, apple was a family favorite and sour cream raisin another frequently requested by
others. She loved to travel and was able to travel to many destinations with Dave during their lifetime together and continued to
travel on her own, with family and friends, and as a Grand Chapter Representative.

I have worked at Lake Ridge Care Center for the past 6 years as a Receptionist/Ward Clerk. Catherine was the first resident that I got to know there. She liked to walk from her room to the front door and back, so I was always a stop on her way. She was very nice to everyone around her. I took a special interest in her as she was my first connection in working in a Nursing Home. Her wonderful spirit always made my day instantly better. I always enjoyed spending time with her. She had a wonderful “Lake Ridge family” as well as her real family. And even though to some it may have seemed that her Alzheimer’s didn’t let her live a normal life – her personality still shined through and she communicated and interacted in her own way to her fellow residents and staff who knew she was still there. I’ll very much miss seeing her smiling face and hope the family takes comfort in the fact that she was still an active member of a community even with her health difficulties. I’m so glad I had the chance to know her.
